Innovative Textiles Customer Success Story

From Kite Strings to Fishing Line: How ITI Helped Transformed an Industry

Since 1992, Colorado-based Innovative Textiles Inc. has demonstrated adaptability, evolving from kite strings to transforming the fishing industry. The turning point came in 1993 when a professional fisherman won a bass tournament using their line, sparking demand for braided fishing lines and leading to the 1997 launch of PowerPro, a microfilament braided line made with Spectra fiber. In 2009, Shimano, a precision-engineering leader and one of the world’s largest fishing equipment manufacturers, acquired Innovative Textiles. This partnership drove innovation, with PowerPro and PowerPro SuperSlick lines revolutionizing fishing techniques through their unmatched strength-to-diameter ratio.

Before transitioning to Acumatica, Innovative Textiles relied on a mix of legacy systems like Macola, spreadsheets, and manual processes that created inefficiencies, data silos, and a lack of real-time visibility. Critical data, such as vendor pricing and purchase order status, was scattered across separate spreadsheets, resulting in a fragmented workflow. Recognizing the need for a modern, integrated ERP to streamline operations and enhance visibility, ITI turned to Algorithm—the same team that had implemented Macola for them years earlier. Now specializing in Acumatica Cloud ERP, Algorithm was the perfect partner for their migration.
