Common Macola FAQs

Does Macola have an API or Customization capabilities?

Macola does not have a true robust API as many modern ERP’s do. There is some designability in screens and using the Synergy interface, as well as some capabilities in older VBA applications.*

Does Macola have Mobility capabilities?

Some mobility is provided by upgrading to the more recent Synergy releases by Exact Software.*

Does Macola Support Third Party Applications?

While there are a handful of third-party applications that work with Macola, many applications that support modern ERP systems are not available in the ecosystem.*

Does ECi support newer Synergy releases?

Synergy releases from Exact can be made to work with older versions of Macola, but the integrated version of Synergy in Macola 10 has not advanced in the same release cycles.*

Does Macola require updates to support new Windows/SQL?

As Macola is not a cloud product hosted by various providers such as Amazon or Microsoft, the customer is responsible through internal or external resources to manage operating software, hardware, virus protection, backups, etc.*

Is Macola a cloud product or can you run Macola in the cloud?

Macola is a client server product. It can be run hosted in a data center but is not a true cloud product nor is it entirely a product to be run in a browser.*
